Sri T.N.S. Krishna started the concert with varnam Sarasuda in Saveri and followed it with popular Vatapi Ganapathim Bhaje in Hamsadhwani with impressive swara kalpana. He then rendered Appa Rama Bhakti in Pantuvarali with very impressive neraval and swara kalpana. Later he rendered Ramadasu keertana Ramabhadra raara, Sriramachandra rara in Anandabhairavi ragam. He presented a sloka in Varali and concluded the concert with a Tillana in Kannada Gowla.
The accompanying artistes Sri Komanduri Venkata Krishna on violin, Sri V.V. Ramana Murthy on mridangam and Sri K.Shyam Kumar on kanjira gave excellent support to make it a very pleasant concert.
On this occasion Dr Varadaraja Iyengar’s daughter gave a brief sketch of her father’s musical life. Dr Chakravarthy spoke about his personal interactions with Dr Iyengar and also the latter’s services to SICA as its Vice President in early days.
